At Saint Anthony Hospital, all high-risk deliveries are attended by an in-house skilled neonatologist.

Saint Anthony Hospital provides comprehensive care of sick newborn infants using a multidisciplinary team approach. Experienced nurses, respiratory therapists and neonatal nurse practitioners provide round-the-clock care under close supervision of board-certified/qualified neonatologists. The nursery is equipped for continuous monitoring and advanced therapies.

Highly skilled neonatologists provide exceptional care to premature or critically ill newborns in either our Level II nursery or the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children's Hospital. Comer Children's neonatal critical care transport team transfers patients between facilities, if needed.

In addition to clinical care, various team members are involved in a broad range of educational and research activities aimed at improving care for the tiniest and most vulnerable babies.
