At Saint Anthony Hospital, all high-risk deliveries are attended by an in-house skilled neonatologist.  

Saint Anthony Hospital provides comprehensive care of sick newborn infants using a multidisciplinary team approach. Experienced nurses, respiratory therapists and neonatal nurse practitioners provide round-the-clock care under close supervision of board-certified/qualified neonatologists.

The nursery provides radiant warming beds, breathing support by breathing machine called ventilator, their cardiac activity, respiratory status and various other life parameters are monitored continuously by various critical care monitors including pulse oximeter, cardiac monitor, blood gas machines and many more.

Saint Anthony hospital highly skilled neonatologists provide exceptional care to premature or critically ill newborns in two state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) located at Saint Anthony Hospital (Level 2) and John H. Stroger Hospital of cook county (Level 3).

John H. Stroger Hospital of cook county neonatal Critical Care Transport Team provides transport for critically ill and premature infants between these facilities and other area hospitals.

In addition to clinical care, various team members of our NICU are involved in a broad range of educational and research activities aimed at improving care for the tiniest and most vulnerable babies.
